Pro Tips for Parents: How to Film Like a Pro

To give your athlete the best chance at a standout reel, follow these filming essentials:

Always Film Horizontally: Modern tools like the GameChanger™ app  are designed for horizontal (landscape) video. Filming vertically cuts off the field of play and makes your footage look amateur. Orientation should be consistent from every angle. (However, there is a place for everything, so if vertical footage is what you want for Hype Style Reels and not for recruiting, have at it!)

Position for the Batter’s “Open Side”: To capture the best view of their swing mechanics and face, position yourself on the side they are facing.

Right-Handed Batters: Set up along the 1st Base Line.

Left-Handed Batters: Set up along the 3rd Base Line.

The “Instant Replay” View: If possible, place a camera or film from Center Field. This “big picture” angle captures the pitcher/ catcher exchange, the hitter’s timing, and the defense all in one shot—just like a professional broadcast.
